Anxiety Among Christians In China, As Xi Jinping Order Believers To Remove Pictures Of Jesus In Their Homes.

China's president, Xi Jinping has ordered Christians in Huangjibu to replace pictures of Jesus with his as refusal would amount to denial of the poverty-relief fund.

According to Open Door USA's World Watch list, China ranks 39th as the world most difficult place for christians to live. The plausibility in the report become more evident in contemprary China, as poor christians in Yugan County of Jiangxi province were ordered to remove portraits of Jesus and replace it with that of their president, Xi Jinping.

This order was informed by the communist leader desire to 'transform believers in religion into believers in the party'. In an interview with South China Morning Post (SCMP), Qi Yan, the person in charge of poverty relief fund disclosed that, the exercise is to make the people see the Communist party and General secretary xi, as their helper and not necessarily Jesus.

According to reports, over 1000 portraits of the president was distributed, 600 christians have so far complied to the order.
