2023 Presidency: Nigerian Socio-political Activist, Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe, Goes Historical, Harps On Voting Wisely
The renowned Socio-political Activist had in a lengthy social media post advised voters to vote wisely - fans concurred, Pokovirtuousblog has shown.
Taking to his Facebook profile in the morning hours of today, National Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, informed his followers [Nigerians] that we have the capacity to make the country great, even as he implored them to vote wisely.
"NIGERIA MY COUNTRY!
Honestly, we’ve the capacity to make Nigeria look so beautiful and prosperous, but unfortunately, the country fell victim into the hands of corrupt leaders who have perpetually remained in power and are unwilling to relinquish it to the younger generation.
"Sadly, they go to these Western countries to enjoy the luxuries of life and make us look so inferior before them. We now even see them as demigod’s because we lack the exposure to be confident of ourselves and challenge them when they go wrong.
"Ironically, in every election cycle, they’ll come out of their shells and pretentiously throw little stolen crumbs to the gullible masses who determines the votes and after getting the power, they become inaccessible and the lamentation of the people continues.
"The campaigns have become a melodrama. Rather than rolling out plans on how to tackle the myriads of challenges bedeviling the country; in terms of the failing economy, the unemployment rate, insecurity, etc; it has become a platform where they abuse and make mockery of each other. We inherit their enemies and suddenly, we see them hugging and exchanging laughter in the full glare of the press and we clap for them! Dem just dey carry us dey catch cruise. Our mumu never do? Of course, this irrational behavior from this political job seekers cannot happen in a civilized country without consequences from the people.
"I was 27years when Buhari took power and they made us believe he was the messiah. I’m 35years now, there’s still no hope on sight. The economy has nosedived under his regime, corruption, unemployment and insecurity has taking an unimaginable scale. On top of this, they’ve depleted our foreign reserves and it is completely empty now.
"I'll be 43 in the next 8years. Some will be 50years and above and may have wasted the most active years of their lives if this error is not corrected.
"We should not be selfish to think that if the candidate of my party wins, life will be easy for me. That’s not correct. We know of people who worked tirelessly for Buhari and today, nothing to show.
"We should be patriotic enough to select the next leader of this country without sentiment and favoritism. It has not helped us and it will never help us if we continue on this part.
"This is an opportunity to take back our country from political hyenas. Thieves whom have scavenged our common resources. If we make any mistake, we are all doomed and the lamentation will continue.
"Our votes should be a referendum for a new Nigeria after carefully analyzing the candidates. A Nigeria, that you and me will be so proud of, irrespective of tribe, religion, ethnicity and creed.
E. Ekerefe."
