The Yarima of Shagari had revealed the country have had only 4 civilian head of state since independence, thereby spurring followers to drop comments, a check by Pokovirtuousblog has shown.
Thursday, April 28, popular Nigerian Documentary Filmmaker, Muhammad Bello Bala Shagari, took to his verified Facebook profile to inform his 31, 456 followers about the occupation of the people who have been ruling the country since October 1, 1960. In the missive, the 'One Nation, One Destiny' Documentary Filmmaker stated that the country is ran by military men in and out of uniform.
"Nigeria had only 4 civilians heads of state since independence, and all of them were ‘educationists’, whose terms were relatively short lived. All others were military men with exception of Shonekan who was single handedly installed by the military.
Balewa was a teacher, so was Shagari and Yaradu’a, while Jonathan was a lecturer.
Ironsi, Gowon, Murtala, Obj, Buhari, IBB, Abacha & Abdulsalam were all soldiers.
Nigeria is ran by military men in and out of uniform".
