Bello Shagari Speaks On Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack, Says 'We Must Be Mindful To Elect Responsible Leaders At Every Level'

 

The Yarima of Shagari had in a social media post described the Abuja-Kaduna train attack as an 'horrible event', Pokovirtuousblog can report.

In the evening hours of Monday, March 28, a train conveying over 970 passengers along the Abuja-Kaduna rail link was attacked, leaving many dead, wounded and others abducted - a substantial portion escaped owing to timely military intervention.

Taking to his verified Facebook profile yesterday, Youth Advocate cum Social Crusader, Muhammad Bello Bala Shagari, expressed sorrow at the incident, describing it as 'the most horrible events to take place recently'. He also besought Nigerians to endeavor to elect responsible leaders.

"The attack on the Kaduna-Abuja train is one of the most horrific events to take place recently. It sends a very big message of insecurity in the country. It is seen as one of the most safest means of traveling but yet it was attacked by bush terrorists.

"The Nigerian Government has failed completely in its primary assignment of securing its citizens. This is not a partisan problem, it is a Nigerian problem. 

The next election should be about individuals who we feel can bring about a lasting solution to our most pressing problems. We must be mindful to elect responsible leadership at every level. A leadership that is willing to take radical steps in curbing our problems.

"Quite unfortunately, as elections draws closer, we are likely to hear more of these kinds of events. As the terrorists continue to perpetuate their crime, the political terrorists will join them. But God is above them all.

My condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, and I wish quick recovery to those who have sustained injuries during the tragic event".
