Metaverse: Bitcoin Chief, Gaius Invite Africans To Build Africa's Own Digital World, Says This Is The 'Africaverse' Idea

 

As the world ponder over metaverse, and tech giants like Facebook changes its name to Meta in order to more fully reflect it's vision, Africa's 1st Bitcoin Investor, Gaius is calling on Africans to follow the trend for a better and prosperous continent, Pokovirtuousblog has learnt.

The word Metaverse was coined by American Science Fiction Writer Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel, 'Snow Crash', and according to AP News it means internet brought to life. Also, Investopedia defined it as a digital reality that combines aspects of social media, online gaming, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and cryptocurrencies to allow users to interact virtually.

To access the 'virtual environment' as Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg called it, one would need to have a virtual reality headsets, augmented reality glasses, smartphone apps or other devices. Researchers say, it is useful in every area of life: education sector, real estate sector, etc.

Taking to his Instagram handle yesterday to invite Africans to embrace the metaverse technology, the Blockchain Entrepreneur talked about Africaverse, a digital platform where young Africans can discuss the way forward for the continent's digital development.

Pokovirtuousblog gathered that he had earlier shared a series of posts on Twitter that throw light on what tech giants like Facebook, Roblox, Epic Games, among others are planning, even as he invited Africans to join the Africaverse group, and build the Africa digital space.

"I am suggesting a digital Africa of our dream built by young Africans which will showcase the METAVERSE  idea in an African way that can later be integrated into the larger Metaverse! I believe Africa's digital world is different from the European digital world
