Tears, Blames As IYC Spokesman, Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe Shares Painting Of Impoverished Niger Delta, Developed City

Sharing an artwork that shows two locations: a developed city and a very much primitive society, the National Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) wept for his Niger Delta. In reaction, a crowd of his followers expressed dissatisfaction over the ugly reality, a check by Pokovirtuousblog has shown.

The Niger Delta region which currently has nine states: Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, Delta, Edo, Cross River, River, Akwa-Ibom and Ondo State is very much underdeveloped in comparison to the wealth it produces for the entity called Nigeria. Although oil exploration started in the area 65 years ago; sells thousands of barrels of oil each day; makes billions of dollars annually, it has been left unattended as it looks like a primitive community.

It is on the heel of this sad reality that Niger Delta Socio-political Activist cum National Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe took to his Facebook profile in the morning hours of today to share a painting that shows a city with skyscrapers on one side, and a village with gas flare in which inhabitants could be seen paddling canoe, on the other side. Upon sharing the photo, he wept.

"The Agony of a Suppressed Oil-Rich Region"
