PrideMonth: 'Your Sin Of Hate Is Equal To Every Other Sin Out There' - Timi Nero Slams Christian Homophobes

As the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) community - and allies - celebrate Pride Month this year, a lot of celebrities like Niecy Nash and others have sent out lovely messages - but it would seem in Nigeria, a country where queer people have no right, a different message would do. Talented Singer, Doutimiye Owonaro better known as Timi Nero seem to have that message, Pokovirtuousblog has learnt.

In a series of posts on his WhatsApp status yesterday, the 'Beautiful' singer started off by saying the majority of Christians will go to Hell Fire because they know the truth, but vehemently refused to obey it. He also revealed that they're aware their sacred scripture frown at individuals who hate/bully/oppress, but they go ahead treading the forbidden path because it fuels their 'misplaced religious zeal'.

"90% of the people who will end up in Hell will be Christians and that's because you all know the truth but don't practice it. You know it's a sin to hate, bully or oppress but you'd do it anyway bcz it fuels your misplaced religious zeal.

"You'd hate the gay man, condemn the drunkard, look down on the smoker and judge the olosho. Your sin of hate is equal to every other mortal sin out there".

Speaking further, the graduate of Mass Communication expressed irk over those calling him out for speaking for the LGBTQI community, adding that he doesn't have to be gay to stand with them - asking if their sexual-orientation should deprive them of their human rights. He also added that white folks who facilitated the abolition of slave trade would laugh at their line of argument.

"Do I have to be gay to fight for gay rights abi gay ppl don't deserve rights bcz they're gay? Freddie Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, Beecher Stow, John Brown, Angelina Grimke, all 'white folks' who fought for the abolition of slave trade would be amazed at your line of argument".

In his concluding post, the 25-year-old singer who composed his first song at the age of 8, stated that he is very much angry at the rude habit the majority of Christians exhibit - he stated that they are Christians and will always easily forgive him, despite having offended many of them through his posts.

"I have pissed off so many Christians today but what do I care? They are "Christians" they will forgive me".
