The office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area headed by Comr. Akekere Jerry in collaboration with the Ogbia LG Media has expressed readiness to monitor the projects ward councillors would commence in their various wards, hence the need to be diligent.
Akekere in a statement made available to Pokovirtuousblog yesterday, noted that, the Chairman [Hon. Ebinyo Turner] in his love for infrastructural development at the grassroot level, gave the councillors of the Ogbia 8th Legislative Assembly #2.5million Naira each to consult with their wards and carryout projects they deem necessary. The statement also reveals that he gave them a charge to ensure that what project they start, be completed within two months.
Speaking further, Jerry noted that the money which was taken from the council's coffer is aimed at executing projects, hence his boss in a bid to ensure the funds are meaningfully utilized, instructed his office and the Ogbia LG Media to go on a 3-day ward project tour at the end of this month - to check that the projects are ongoing, and record the level of progress attained.
He stated, 'The Chairman has given an order that councillors constitute a ward project. We are moving for the tour to ensure that projects are executed, because he is determined to have them completed...'
Pokovirtuousblog learnt that the Councillors of the Ogbia 8th Legislative Assembly are thirteen namely: Hon. Moses Confidence; Hon. Prince Okenema; Hon. Tyna Miracle among others. Comr. Akekere Jerry who holds a BSc in History and Diplomacy was appointed as Chief Press Secretary to the honorable Chairman [Hon. Ebinyo Turner] in August 2019.
