On Comr. Udengs Eradiri's Defection To APC: 'I See Him Decamping With Half A Million Bayelsan Youths' - Timipre Sylva Declares

There was an air of excitement at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Yenagoa, Tuesday, February 2, 2021 when the state's party chairman and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva welcomed influential Youth Mobilizer, Comr. Udengs Eradiri to the party alongside over 10,000 of his supporters, Daily Trust reports

During the enlarged meeting, Sylva stated that his [ Comr. Udengs Eradiri] decision to leave the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to become a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a good one, as the party needs him now more than ever. He also added that he's pretty sure more than half a million of Bayelsan youths are behind him.

While fielding questions from Journalists, Eradiri noted that, although he's been a staunch member of the PDP, he has not been having a good time in the party recently. Speaking further, he added that, given his recent appointment as Special Adviser on youth matters to the sole administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) - being a national service, it wouldn't be out of place to abandone his  'personal interest' for 'national interest', adding that he wouldn't want to remain in one party while working for another - hence the defection.
