PREVIOUS POLITICAL APPOINTMENT BY THE RESTORATION GOVERNMENT IN ISAMPOU WARD 1

1.     1 Cabinet Commissioner

Based on the information above, it could be inferred that ward 4 and ward 5 had been intoto denied of appointed and elective positions since the creation of Ekeremor Local Government Area. In other words, the aforementioned wards have been politically enslaved for decades and it calls for attention.

It is also enshrined in section 7 (3) (c) of the constitution of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as amended in 2017 stated thus: “adhering to the policy of rotation and zoning of party and the public elective offices in pursuance of the principle of equity, justice and fairness”

By the provision of the PDP constitution as regard rotation and zoning of party and public elective offices, ward 1, ward 2 and ward 3 ought not to produce the chairmanship candidate of PDP for the forthcoming Local Government Chairmanship Election from Constituency 1 in Ekeremor Local Government Area as it has been shown in the table above.

3.     That, if  ward 4 and ward 5 is still denied of the chairmanship position in the forth-coming local government chairmanship election, the stakeholders of the aforementioned wards will have every cause to believe that they don’t have a sense of belonging in this restoration government.

4.     That, having seen the level of deprivation and denial in the information above, and any attempt to deny ward 4 or ward 5 of the chairmanship position is tantamount to keeping the people of the said wards in perpetual political slavery.

5.     That, the stakeholders and the good people of ward 4 and ward 5 shall be very grateful, if this communiqué is duly considered by the restoration government.
