Following the incessant lynching and mob violence meted to gay men in Nigeria and the societal perception of their sexual-orientation _ being gay is the most vicious of sins, hence should be ill-treated anywhere at anytime _ with the degree of friendliness to gay men below zero; the majority of them has come to the conclusion that, the future of their dear LGBT community is bleak and gloomy.

• I've been privileged to interview a couple of gay men, how it saddens to know that some are going as sex workers _ too bad! That's the reason many of them are falling victim to the Nigerian merciless anti-gay law.

Seems you've forgotten the story of 42 gay men that were arrested in Lagos 2017, right? Truth be told they weren't lured, it's because they are gay commercial sex workers _ save yourself by resisting the urge to go that way.

• Useful! Useful! Useful! is the key. Societal perception of the LGBT community is that, they're groups of senseless, worthless and mentally deranged fellow; and you're doing useless stuffs. Tell me, how can you change their perception?...

On the contrary, if you start displaying a high level of intelligence they'll soon give their view of you a change.

• Just the other day I read on the internet how that a gay boy was beaten black and blue  in Jigawa state_ what a pity it saddens though!

But here is the catch, the need to have wisdom and think smart as a gay in Nigeria cannot be over-emphacized. Get to understand your countrymen attitudes. Don't be ignorant of their gimmicks, machination and devices.


"Make yourself meaningful to society and it will embrace you"-

• Seek to make positive contribution to your immediate society, be obsessed with finding a course you'll live for that can better the lives of your countrymen. Be the one that when people think of, they see someone who adds value to their career, business, relationship etc. You'll soon repeal the law because you'll prove to them that sexual-orientation doesn't hinder intelligence.

• Ever chat with a gay man?...I trust that you had. Hence, you'll appreciate what am about to say.

Gay men like talking about the features, attributes, physique of the boy they admire _ when I hear it am like, 'hey, stop it! you want to kill yourself'

Straight guys may not change their heterosexual lifestyle _ you can't force it on them _ they'll only humiliate you and you'll find yourself in the penitentiary. Close your minds eye from a straight guy.

As a gay living in a state that views your sexuality as the most vicious of sins, you'll be wise to know your fellow LGBT guys.

• How it saddens seeing some gay folks so dependent on people that they become disgusting _ become self-reliant! Get an education, acquire a skill!
