While the majority of people practising religion thinks they're faithful to their God, only few can be called obedient worshippers. The bunch of religious faithfuls seen as holy men are the wealthy.

While the majority of people (Nigerians) strive to keep the commandments of their God, few have been able to live righteously. The bunch of people that are righteous owe it to a single factor, 'not being broke'. Before you crucify me for saying that please read further.

According to Wiktionary.org, sin is a violation of God's will or religious laws. If there is an act a man commits that's against the will of the creator of heaven and earth it means the person has sinned against God. Studies indicates that poor folks are more susceptible to crime, dishonest deals than the rich. It would further surprise you to know that the mainstream religions in Nigeria: Christianity and Islam agrees that poor folks are the most vicious of sinners, hence have to repent  from poverty and strive to become rich.

• What About Providing For Your Family?...

"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and his worse than an unbeliever"-

"So give to the kinsman his due, and to...that is best for those who seek Allah's countenance, and such are they who are successful"-

I see that you sincerely love God, you want to keep his commands, but you're ignorant of one thing: your poverty, stony broke life has made you a sinner _ you cannot provide for your family _ food, clothing, shelter, educational needs and many more. The consequence of not being able to provide for your family as our scriptures instructs goes beyond what you've thought _ it makes the Infinite weep and qualifies you as the creator of evil in your society.

According to Cpag.org.uk, poverty is also associated with a higher risk of both illness and premature death. Similarly, in a report published by the Centre on the Developing Child at Harvard, it stated that: the single most common factor for children who develop resilience is having at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive parent.

The trick behind the divine instruction for us to provide for our families is that, as we become gainfully employed we are making money thereby enabling us to reach out to our kids and family, ultimately it puts some dollars into our account.

If you think you're walking with God, you're making a grave mistake, if you haven't obeyed God's instruction on family life. Success in your family is at the heart of God, and not until you obey it, your family becomes a nuisance to society and eventually you'll miss seeing God. Go out, seize business opportunities, provide for your family, God will be happy and am pretty sure you know you'll also smile to the bank.

Heck, you said you're a preacher of righteousness but you like to stay idle?...

...You've missed out on the truth.

You professed to be a Christian/Muslim but you don't want to make meaningful contribution to your immediate community?...

...You're way off the path to Paradise!

Can't you see it, your holy scripture that contains the mind of your God wants you to shun idleness _ become a producer and worker _ God frowns at you because he knows the way to failure/poverty is staying idle. In his score chart you're below zero if you're not working _ he wants you to be doing something.

The simple secret is, in becoming gainfully employed God smiles at you _ you've obeyed him and in society you'll be honoured and valued _ or do I have to explain it to you that Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Jack Ma, Armancio Ortega etc are all held in high esteem?...

The creator of the universe is an intelligent being _ he is wise! Come to think of it, if he were not an excellent being do you think he would have been able to create the planets?...

So God creates possibilities in his world through knowledge, and here he wants you to make your world repleted with possibilities by acquiring knowledge. Knowledge makes you become wealthy; and it is a command he gave us _ so if you're still uneducated, you're a sinner and that explains why you're poor_ leverage the massive wealth in the education system and becomes a rich figure.

Get an education, and so please your God and become rich.

In Conclusion, the new definition of sin is being broke. It's true indeed!

If you must be called an obedient worshipper, you have to keep his commands and his commands on: Family life, Work, Knowledge acquisition (they are many) makes you wealthy. So it's safe to conclude that if one is poor he's not been obedient to his God holistically. Seek to obey your God and become rich!
