How I weep in my heart, when I see youths within my age bracket roaming the street without a clear-cut purpose in life!

In a country of over 190+million people, that has youths as the vast majority of the population, an important question one might want to ask is,

'How many of our [Nigerian] youths are productive (offering value to our economy)?...

...A clear answer is just a soupcon _ but this ought not to be so!

Research indicates that majority of Nigerian youths are unemployable _ if they lack skills to be employed (to offer value) how can they become productive?...

...That would be impossible! Hence, to help our youths become productive citizens is to show them the path to productivity and becoming a meaningful specific. One truth we all need to grasp is, we have the inherent ability to excel.


• Start With A Clear-cut Vision

Those were really tough days _ or should I say lovely days? As I begin to pen this article, waves of nostalgia sweep me back to my high school days _ when I was in JSS 3. It was really shameful. At such a level academically, I couldn't speak at the front of my fellow students _ my English grammar was very bad. I thought to myself,

'What must I do to change this ugly narrative in my life'?...

...Suddenly I got an idea _ read daily. And guess what?...



*One truth we all have to grasp is, we have the inherent ability to excel*



...I developed the habit, the vision of reading each day; after two years interval, we had a debate competition, I emerged as the best speaker. The catch?

Becoming a success isn't a sealed book so that you can't read to enjoy its content _ it is the result of having vision, target. I had a target _ to speak better English. If you live without target, your life becomes a load of rubbish both to yourself and society. Sit down, look at what's happening around you, you don't take kind to _ choose to make it become what you like, pursue to achieve it _ this is what it means to have vision.



• Nothing Helps Like Investing Wisely On Your Time

Time! Time! Time! It is the key to lead a productive life. An important question you'll want to answer honestly if you fancy to become a success figure in society is,

'What are the activities that consumes my time?'...

I for one, live as a Public-speaker and Writer, hence get involved in series of researches, webinars, reading etc. On the contrary, let's say I decide to use a substantial portion of my time watching TV, having series of  chit-chats with friends _ what are my doing?...

...Am investing my time on what won't make me productive!

The reason people say you're useleless is because you invest your time on useless things. If you want to be respected, invest your time on activities people admire, soon enough, they'll call on you to render service to them. This explains why you need to have a clear-cut vision _ I have a clear-cut vision _ Speaker and Writer _ hence, research on becoming better each day. Having gotten a purpose in life, the ladder to achieve it [your dream] is your commitment to it. If you don't give your time to your vision, you may only be opportuned to have it in your mind _ nobody will benefit from it. Those who make judicious use of time, are the people society will honour. Search all the great heroes of the world, one theme that is common among them is; they give again and again their time to their vision. What about you?...



• Hey, Stop And Think!

On becoming a success, it's important that we stop and think. Your ability to think, unlearn yourself from fallacies  is the credential to become a productive figure.

How would you reply to this?...

A boy was told that if he wants to make bricks, all he has to do is pour sands into water and that's all _ he did that for years but was unable to make a brick. What do you think is the way out for such a fellow?...

...There are lessons we've learnt in our quest to become a success that aren't true, hence we've been having trouble becoming productive. Like the boy who was ill-taught, so that he couldn't make brick if he must succeeding in making one, he has to know the truth about making bricks.

As you tread on the journey to success, always question conventional beliefs and ideologies. Always learn new things and unlearn old futile lessons. Keep in mind that any principle that fails to produce a beneficial result upon experimentation is false and fallacious. Right principle always produces right result.



• What A Friend I Find In Persistence!

Hey, guys I almost forgot to add this significant recipe to success _ persistence!

Dear reader, perseverance, persistence, endurance, grit _ or what do you call it in your dialect? Is the key to becoming productive. After you've gotten the vision, given it your time, apply the right rules; it's requisite you understand that farmers don't plant their crops today and harvest them in 24 hours time _ it takes months _ some takes years depending on the type of crop they planted. In the game of life, we're like farmers _ we have to be patient. It behooves on us to faithfully wait on our vision to yield fruit, having implemented all the necessary do's.

In summary, the Nigerian youths can be productive, the global youths can become a great success _ we can change the narrative! But how many are ready to apply these principles?...

Those who adhere to these rules, are the people that will become a success. It takes right principles to become a success.
