'Do Not Criminalise The Smoking Of Cannabis' - UN To Nigeria

The United Nations Representative in Nigeria, Harsheth Kaur Virk urges the country not to criminalise the smoking of Marijuana.

 In her speech, she stated that current research on the usage of the drug shows it has medical benefits.


Harsheth Kaur Virk Project Officer of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Nigeria, urged the leaders in Nigeria not to criminalise the smoking of marijuana, as it is useful health-wise.

 In her speech from the talk she delivered at a programme organied by the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics & Health; she urged Nigeria not to criminalise smokers of the drugs but rather rehabilitate them.
